FINCH APPLAUDS PASSAGE OF EQUAL PAY LEGISLATION
Assemblyman Gary Finch (R,C,I-Springport) is pleased to announce the passage of A.6075, legislation that outlaws differential pay based on sex. Finch cosponsored the bill in the Assembly.
“Our conference is committed to protecting all New Yorkers from discrimination. There is no place for prejudice in the workplace. During the rest of our legislative session, we will continue to promote policies that generate upward economic mobility for New York State’s hardworking women,” said Finch.
Finch noted the bill’s unanimous passage as a sign that the Assembly Majority “chose wisely” when they opted to bring the component bills of the Women’s Equality Agenda to the floor for individual votes.
Last session, agreed-upon measures were tied to controversial legislation that would expand access to late-term abortions.
“We have been outspoken advocates for separating the bills. There is bipartisan support for strengthening protections for our mothers and daughters, our sisters and our friends. There is bipartisan support for creating economic opportunity. Today’s vote proves that,” Finch concluded.
