The Empire State Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) has endorsed Assemblyman Gary D. Finch (R,C,I-Springport) in his re-election effort. ABC is a working coalition of over 400 contractors who supported a bipartisan slate of Assembly candidates this year.

“When I go back to Albany, I’ll be fighting to cut taxes and reform regulations so we can get our economy moving again. When we make it easier to do business here, entrepreneurs and innovators will be making investments in our communities that will keep builders and contractors busy. If there isn’t new economic activity, contractors can’t do what they do best- create good jobs for their neighbors. That’s why I’m proud to take their fight to Albany, and that’s why I’m humbled by their endorsement,” said Finch.

“Our organization represents nearly 400 contractors throughout New York State who employ thousands. These are hard-working men and women who simply want an opportunity for a level playing field and a fair shot at public work. The environment for small businesses as it stands is hostile to say the least, particularly in construction. Overregulation and government overreach are impeding the ability for businesses to grow and thrive. We need real reform and change, and we need government to stop picking winners and losers. These representatives can bring that about and make New York State competitive again,” said President Brian Sampson,

Finch believes his small government approach to economic development is exactly what the industry is looking for.

“Economic development dollars should not be a slush fund for a small group of well-connected construction firms. We can level the playing field by embracing a small-government approach to economic development. We need to tear down the barriers to growth, and in New York State, those are taxes and regulations
