Farm Bureau President, Soil and Water Chairman Endorses Finch

Assemblyman Gary D. Finch (R,C,I-Springport) was pleased to receive a letter of endorsement from Ray Lockwood, President of the Cayuga County Farm Bureau and Chairman of the Cayuga County Soil and Water District.

“Ray possesses an impressive array of skills and a singular commitment to our community. As Soil and Water District Chairman, Ray is steadfast in his position that we must protect our natural resources, especially Owasco Lake. As President of the Farm Bureau, he advocates for our farmers with common sense, understanding and valuable experience. These issues are critical to the residents of Cayuga County, and we’ve always been able to trust Ray to do the job. I am so appreciative of his support and endorsement,” said Finch.

The full content of the Lockwood letter is printed below:

Dear Assemblyman Finch,

You have earned my endorsement in the race to represent the 126th Assembly District.

As President of Cayuga County’s Farm Bureau, I have seen firsthand how hard you work on behalf of the agricultural community. You are approachable. You’re always available to answer questions about new legislation. We know that you have been our voice in Albany for years. We know that isn’t going to change. The Cayuga County Farm Bureau is proud to count you in our “Circle of Friends,” our highest award.

I appreciate your sound judgment. You support agriculture as a business by voting in favor of lower taxes, reformed regulations and farm savings accounts. Your passionate concern for the environment shows a balanced understanding of our issues. You were instrumental in securing grant money to clean up the Dutch Hollow Brook, a key tributary of Owasco Lake. As Chairman of the Cayuga County Soil and Water District, I was grateful.

Above all, there is one reason I want to send you back to represent us. I trust you. In this day and age, you don’t find many public officials who do what they say they’ll do and conduct themselves with honesty and integrity. You do. You have my full support, and I wish you the best of luck in your re-election bid.
Sincerely,

Ray Lockwood
President, Cayuga County Farm Bureau
Chairman, Cayuga County Soil and Water District
