The Manufacturers Association of Central New York (MACNY) has endorsed Assemblyman Gary D. Finch’s (R,C,I-Springport) re-election bid.

MACNY represents nearly 330 industrial firms and affiliated organizations.

“I am grateful for MACNY’s endorsement and their trust. During the upcoming session, we need to ensure that New York state is open for business, and it’s not going to happen by running television ads. We need to cut the taxes and reform the regulations that make it so difficult for firms to invest in our communities and for small manufacturers to keep their neighbors on the payroll,” said Finch.

Finch also stressed the importance of investing in workforce development programs that help equip workers with the skills they need to compete for jobs in high-tech manufacturing. He also wants to help firms cut energy costs.

“Gary Finch has been a longtime advocate and friend to manufacturing and business, and we are pleased to be offering our endorsement this year to Gary. His understanding of business concerns comes with experience, being a longtime business owner himself. This type of experience and understanding of our needs is exactly what we look for in an advocate in Albany,” said Karyn Burns, MACNY Vice President of Communications and Government Relations.

Finch’s vision for building a stronger middle class and empowering small-business owners has gained traction with leading advocacy groups. The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), The Business Council of New York State, Inc., Unshackle Upstate and the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) have all endorsed him.
